This portrait of Olivia de Havilland was created for The Criterion Collection and their re-release of the 1949 movie The Heiress.
Catherine, played by Olivia, embroiders in the movie viewed by her father as her only talent- how apt). The portrait is my first attempt at monochromatic work, and although I have some pink, blues and purples snuck in there, I exercised as much restraint as possible.
The work was used for the DVD cover and includes a poster of the original, beautifully scanned by Mishal Weston.
