Nelson Mandela

I was commissioned to create this piece of Nelson Mandela and it’s been something I’ve wanted to do for years, but I’ve been so hesitant because it feels impossible to honour a man of his stature and overwhelming greatness. I am very proud to be from South Africa and a lot of that is attributed to his sacrifices and legacy. We are far from perfect, but his ideals are reflected in the best sides of us.

I created this from an image my dad took during his 46664 concerts years ago. He had the honour of meeting Mandela several times and has told me some great stories that leave me more attached to home then ever.
