STRING THEORY

Over three days, we cover (non-intimidating) colour theory and create unique palettes. We learn to apply these by exploring colour-blending, techniques and materials.

We spend a portion of the class experiencing an array of materials to help us figure out what resonates with us while learning to interpret abstract textures with thread.

Using textures, figurative imagery, portraiture and collage we break free of the pressure of perfection and indulge in play. Our final pieces will be created using a unique reference you create in the class. Through String Theory, we will discover our voice in this amazing threaded medium and take home a juicy, bespoke kit.

Skill level:

This is an intermediate workshop on embroidery and material. A general understanding of basic embroidery is helpful.
