Cape Town Craft Class

Experience the CODA Collective magic and join us for a special 2-day mixed-media collaborative workshop hosted by Cynthia Edwards and Danielle Clough. We will spend the weekend together creating a fabric artwork combining two techniques: block printing and embroidery. This class is accessible to all levels – a basic understanding of threading can be helpful but unnecessary. Equipment is provided, including take-home tools and a bespoke kit to keep the crafting going.

Day 1:

Spend the first day with Cynthia making and printing your own design onto fabric, using the block-print/relief method. She will guide you through the process of transferring your image to lino, the basics of relief printing and “working in the negative” as well as safely using your linocut tools. And finally, the ins and outs of printing on fabric to create the first layer of your artwork.
